Steve Hazel went 2-3 and hit a home run as the Regina Red Sox (2-0) took home a 3-1 victory over the Yorkton Cardinals (0-2) at Currie Field on Sunday.

Justin Blue's seven strikeouts were enough to push the Regina Red Sox past the Yorkton Cardinals. Blue allowed no earned runs, four hits and two walks over seven innings.

Vin Whitenight had an impressive outing against the Regina Red Sox's lineup. Whitenight held the Regina Red Sox hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Jamie Whitehead couldn't get it done on the mound for the Yorkton Cardinals, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
