The Medicine Hat Mavericks (24-20) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 6-4 to the Swift Current Indians (25-18) on Sunday.

The Swift Current Indians took the lead in the fourth inning on an RBI double by Liam Goodall.

Hunter Owen got on base three times in the game for the Swift Current Indians. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the first and fourth innings.

Jose Cruz had two extra-base hits for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He doubled in the first and eighth innings.

Juan Pizarro improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Swift Current Indians. He allowed four runs over 6 2/3 innings. Pizarro struck out six, walked one and gave up seven hits.

Ryan Chen (0-4) took the loss for the Medicine Hat Mavericks. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked four and struck out two.
