Saturday was a great day for Chevas Numata, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the Santa Fe Fuego (1-1) to a 7-3 victory over the Trinidad Triggers (1-1) at Fort Marcy Park.
Cody Coffman had a hot bat for the Trinidad Triggers. Coffman went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the sixth inning.
Francisco Rodriguez improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Santa Fe Fuego. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered no hits.
Zach Leitten (0-1) took the loss for the Trinidad Triggers. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked three, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
The Santa Fe Fuego were sparked by Numata and Craig Massey, who teamed up for four hits and seven RBIs.
