Both the Harwich Mariners (21-13) and the Brewster Whitecaps (12-23) put runners aboard on Thursday, but it was the Harwich Mariners that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 5-3 win at Whitehouse Field.

Angelo Amendolare got on base three times in the game for the Harwich Mariners. He also drove in two runners. He singled in the fourth innings.

The Brewster Whitecaps had no answer for Johnathan Frebis, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Frebis gave up just three hits, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his four innings of work.

Gio Brusa had a hot bat for the Brewster Whitecaps. Brusa went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second inning and homered in the fourth inning.

Robby Kalaf recorded his second win of the year for the Harwich Mariners. He allowed three runs over five innings. Kalaf struck out five, walked none and gave up seven hits.

Andrew Lee (1-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked five, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
