The Wareham Gatemen need walk-off single to beat the Orleans Firebirds, 3-2

A walk-off single from Chris Chinea brought home the winning run for the Wareham Gatemen (12-25) in a 3-2 victory over the Orleans Firebirds (22-14) at Spillane Field on Monday.

Chinea did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Wareham Gatemen, reaching base two times. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the ninth inning.

Blake Lacey had a hot bat for the Wareham Gatemen. Lacey went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fifth and seventh innings.

Liam OSullivan allowed two earned runs, four hits and three walks while striking out five over 6 2/3 innings of work.

Jerry McClanahan went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for the Orleans Firebirds. He singled in the third and ninth innings.

Jason Richman recorded his second win of the year for the Wareham Gatemen. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered three hits.

Hayden Stone couldn't get it done on the bump for the Orleans Firebirds, taking a loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.
