The British Columbia (2-0) beat the Nova Scotia 13-1 in five innings on Friday at Whalley Athletic Park after a nine-run explosion in the third inning.

The British Columbia scored in the third on , an RBI single by Katelyn Bedwell, an RBI single by Stacy Fournier, a two-run double by Stephanie Caron, , a two-run triple by Claire Eccles, and an RBI double by Daniella Matteucci.

Eccles racked up four RBIs on two hits for the British Columbia.

Taylor Knight got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over three innings. Knight struck out two, walked seven and gave up two hits.

Heather Healey (0-1) took the loss for the Nova Scotia (0-2). He allowed nine runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked five and struck out one.
