Third-inning rally sparks blowout win for the Alberta, 8-1

A six-run explosion in the third inning lifted the Alberta (2-0) to an 8-1 win in seven innings over the Ontario two at Whalley Athletic Park on Friday.

The Alberta scored in the third on an RBI single by Heather Northcott, an RBI single by Carrie Jesperson, , a two-run single by Nicole Luchanski, and an RBI single by Rayna Miller.

The Alberta were led by Bradi Wall's hitting. Wall went 2-2 and scored two runs. He singled in the third and fourth innings.

Kelsey Lalor pitched lights out for the Alberta. Lalor held the Ontario two (0-2) hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

The Alberta couldn't get anything going as long as Jessica Snow was pitching. The Alberta managed just one hit off of the the Ontario two's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his 2 1/3 innings of work.

Ashley Flemington (0-1) took the loss for the Ontario two. He allowed eight runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out none.
