Both the Qu��bec (1-0) and the Ontario two (0-1) put runners aboard on Thursday, but it was the Qu��bec that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 7-2 win at Whalley Athletic Park.

The Qu��bec were led by a flawless day at the dish by Emilie Laliberte, who went 2-2 against the Ontario two's pitching. He singled in the third and fourth innings.

Vanessa Riopel pitched lights out for the Qu��bec. The Ontario two managed just one hit off of Riopel, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his four innings of work.

Marylena Florio ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked four, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
