A walk-off from Alex Perez brought home the winning run for the Harwich Mariners (7-1) in a 6-5 victory over the Chatham Anglers in 10 innings at Whitehouse Field on Thursday.
Perez did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Harwich Mariners, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the seventh and ninth innings.
Skye Bolt got on base four times in the game for the Harwich Mariners. He singled in the first, third, and ninth innings.
The Chatham Anglers (3-5) couldn't get anything going as long as Gavin Pittore was pitching. Pittore held the Chatham Anglers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.
Bryan Goossens ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out two, and allowed one run.
