Ben DeLuzio was cold coming off the bench, but DeLuzio warmed up quickly as DeLuzio stroked a key pinch-hit single in the four to lead the Hyannis Harbor Hawks (5-3) to an 8-3 win over the Bourne Braves (5-3) on Thursday at McKeon Park.
With the Hyannis Harbor Hawks trailing by three in the fourth inning, DeLuzio came to the plate and singled.
The Bourne Braves were ahead early but they ultimately surrendered the lead for good. The Bourne Braves were ahead until the fourth inning, but the Hyannis Harbor Hawks would not be denied the win, taking the lead back on a home run by Donnie Dewees Jr..
Dewees Jr. racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks. He homered in the fourth inning, doubled in the seventh inning, and singled in the eighth inning.
Nick Deeg improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks. He allowed three runs over eight innings. Deeg struck out five, walked one and gave up eight hits.
Eric Nyquist (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
