The Newfoundland (0-1) didn't put up much of a fight on Thursday, as the Nova Scotia (2-0) cruised to a blowout 11-3 win in seven innings at Field one.

The Nova Scotia scored three runs in the fifth on the Nova Scotia scored in the fifth on an error, a sacrifice fly by Ken Long, and an RBI single by Matt Denney.

Denney reached base three times in the game for the Nova Scotia. He scored two runs and had one RBI.

Paul Doucette improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Nova Scotia. He allowed one run over five innings. Doucette struck out two, walked three and gave up five hits.

Michael Tavenor was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed 10 runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.
