A walk-off single from Pete Parrella brought home the winning run for the RR Construction (11-5) in an 8-7 victory over the Newport (6-10) at Cardines Field on Sunday.

Parrella racked up two RBIs on one hit for the RR Construction. He singled in the ninth inning.

Nick Coro reached base four times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the seventh inning and singled in the third and ninth innings.

The Newport had no answer for Alex Marzilli, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Newport managed just two hits off of the the RR Construction's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out five during his five innings of work.

Dante Blancarte racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Newport. He singled in the first and ninth innings.

Jeff Melillo couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Newport, taking a loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
