Johnny Bladel both hit and pitched well for the Trinidad Triggers (27-21), but it wasn't enough as the Trinidad Triggers fell to the Raton Osos (19-30) 5-2 at Central Park on Sunday.
Bladel boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 3-3 day at the plate to pace the Trinidad Triggers. He doubled in the third innings and singled in the first and eighth innings.
Bladel baffled the Raton Osos, striking out seven batters. Bladel allowed one earned run on six hits and two walks over seven innings.
The Trinidad Triggers were ahead early but they ultimately surrendered the lead for good. The Trinidad Triggers were ahead until the eighth inning, but the Raton Osos would not be denied the win, taking the lead back on a sacrifice fly by Aaron Olivas.
Tim Sylvester pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, six hits and two walks while striking out four.
