The Santa Fe Fuego (45-22) continued to pile up the runs on Tuesday, scoring three runs in the last three innings, en route to an easy 12-3 win over the Taos Blizzard (22-41) at Fort Marcy Park.
The Santa Fe Fuego scored five runs in the sixth on the Santa Fe Fuego scored in the sixth on a groundout by Aaron Carman, a two-run single by Joey LaCugna, and a two-run home run by Josh Downing.
Brice Cutspec reached base five times. He singled in the first, third, sixth, and seventh innings.
The Santa Fe Fuego relied on Downing to eat up innings en route to the win. Downing pitched eight innings and allowed one earned run, six hits and three walks while striking out six.
Dominic SanFelippo had two extra-base hits for the Taos Blizzard. He doubled in the first inning, singled in the third inning, and homered in the ninth inning.
Dayron Silva-Perez (3-3) took the loss for the Taos Blizzard. He lasted just four innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
The Santa Fe Fuego pounded the Taos Blizzard pitching, as seven hitters combined for 17 hits, 10 RBIs and nine runs scored.
