The Santa Fe Fuego need walk-off single to beat the Trinidad Triggers, 5-4

A walk-off single from Chevas Numata brought home the winning run for the Santa Fe Fuego (14-5) in a 5-4 victory over the Trinidad Triggers (9-9) at Fort Marcy Park on Wednesday.

Numata reached base four times in the game for the Santa Fe Fuego. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the sixth and ninth innings.

Nick Billinger went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for the Santa Fe Fuego. He homered in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Briston Shoulders brought the heat against the Trinidad Triggers during his outing. The Trinidad Triggers managed just one hit off of Shoulders, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his 2 1/3 innings of work.

Eric Cordova allowed one earned run, six hits and two walks while striking out three over six innings of work.

Zach Leitten ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out two, and allowed no runs.
