Thursday was a great day for Jonathan Hernandez, as Hernandez struck out eight batters to carry the California Warriors (25-19) to a 9-1 victory over the Atwater Aviators at Fireman's Memorial Ballpark.

The offense exploded for the the California Warriors in the seventh. In the inning the California Warriors scored seven runs. The California Warriors scored in the seventh on a solo home run by Cameron Merriwether, a solo home run by Dennis Karas, a groundout by Allen Smoot, a single by Kailen Robinson, a three-run error, and a single by Kevin Jordan.

Merriwether racked up two RBIs on one hit for the California Warriors.

The California Warriors had no answer for Tyler Kotchik, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Kotchik gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his 2 1/3 innings of work.

Kyle Treadway (3-2) took the loss for the Atwater Aviators (19-31). He allowed nine runs in 6 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out one.
