The Auburn Wildcats and the Atwater Aviators (17-25) each put runners in scoring position on Thursday, but the Auburn Wildcats capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 3-2 win at Fireman's Memorial Ballpark.

Kevin Bevilacqua got on base five times in the game for the Auburn Wildcats. He singled in the first inning.

Mike Proitte handled the Atwater Aviators' lineup with ease, racking up seven strikeouts. Proitte allowed two earned runs, nine hits and two walks over seven innings.

The Atwater Aviators' Kert Woods was perfect at the dish, going 4-4. He tripled in the first inning and singled in the third, fifth, and seventh innings.

Lane Aikmen improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Auburn Wildcats. Aikmen struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.

Tyler Daily (1-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.
