The Brewster Whitecaps (14-24) beat the Chatham Anglers (17-22) 12-7 in eight innings on Tuesday at Stony Brook behind Bradon Bishop, who went 3-3 at the plate.
He singled in the second, fourth, fifth, and eighth innings.AJ Murray racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Chatham Anglers. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the first and seventh innings.
The Brewster Whitecaps couldn't get anything going so long as Paul Covelle was on the hill. Covelle held the Brewster Whitecaps hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two.
Cody Ponce improved to 4-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Brewster Whitecaps. He allowed four runs over five innings. Ponce struck out six, walked one and gave up seven hits.
