Story by Narrative Science.

The Brewster Whitecaps (11-18) and the Wareham Gatemen (9-20) both had scoring chances on Monday, but it was the Brewster Whitecaps that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 3-2 win at Spillane Field.

The Wareham Gatemen couldn't get anything going as long as Cody Ponce was pitching. Ponce held the Wareham Gatemen hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Anthony Kay had an impressive outing against the Brewster Whitecaps' lineup. The Brewster Whitecaps managed just one hit off of Kay, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his 3 2/3 innings of work.

Andrew Naderer got the win, running his season record to 3-0. He allowed two runs over seven innings. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered eight hits.

Scott Effross ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
