David Thompson went 2-3, sparking the Orleans Firebirds (12-9) to a 3-1 victory over the Harwich Mariners (13-8) on Saturday at Whitehouse Field.

Kolton Mahoney put together a nice outing. The Harwich Mariners managed just two hits off of the the Orleans Firebirds' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out four during his five innings of work.

A bright spot for the Harwich Mariners in the defeat was Jacob Evans, who allowed only zero runs while striking out six.

Jason Inghram ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
