Blake Davey had two extra base hits, sparking the Bourne Braves (14-7) to a 7-6 victory over the Harwich Mariners (13-8) on Wednesday at Whitehouse Field.
He homered in the fourth inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and singled in the ninth inning.The Harwich Mariners had no answer for John Gorman, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Harwich Mariners managed just one hit off of the the Bourne Braves' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work.
Matt Gonzalez had a hot bat for the Harwich Mariners. Gonzalez went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second, fifth, and ninth innings.
Jacob Sparger improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Bourne Braves. He allowed one run over two innings. Sparger struck out one, walked none and gave up two hits.
Ronnie Glenn (0-1) took the loss for the Harwich Mariners. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed one run.
The Bourne Braves' Billy Fleming, Davey, Harrison Bader and Richard Martin Jr combined for nine hits and five RBIs.
