Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Sunday as the Orleans Firebirds (9-8) outscored the Harwich Mariners (11-6) 15-8.

The teams totaled 30 hits in the game.

Ten runs in the opening three innings allowed the Orleans Firebirds to easily put away the Harwich Mariners. An RBI single by Edwin Rios, an RBI single by David Thompson, an RBI single by Thompson, a groundout by Bobby Dalbec, , an RBI single by Brett Stephens, and an RBI single by Stephens in the first inning and an RBI single by Rios, an RBI single by Rios, an RBI single by Thompson, a two-run error, and an RBI single by Geoff DeGroot during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Orleans Firebirds.

Rios racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Orleans Firebirds.

Even though Bobby Poyner allowed six runs over 3 1/3 innings he still recorded the victory, his first of the season. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered seven hits.

Jon Harris ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed 10 runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out three.

The Orleans Firebirds pounded the Harwich Mariners pitching, as six hitters combined for 13 hits, 11 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
