Wednesday was a great day for David Thompson, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the Orleans Firebirds (6-8) to a 7-5 victory over the Harwich Mariners (10-4) at Eldredge Park.
Brett Lilek had an impressive outing against the Harwich Mariners' lineup. The Harwich Mariners managed just one hit off of the the Orleans Firebirds' pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out three during his four innings of work.
Sam Moore recorded his first win of the year for the Orleans Firebirds. Moore struck out none, walked none and gave up one hit.
Ray Castillo couldn't get it done on the bump for the Harwich Mariners, taking a loss. He lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
