The Bourne Braves take out the Harwich Mariners with help from Martin Jr, 2-1

Richard Martin Jr went 2-3, sparking the Bourne Braves (6-3) to a 2-1 victory over the Harwich Mariners (7-2) on Friday at Whitehouse Field.

He singled in the fifth and seventh innings.

Joey Strain had an impressive outing against the Harwich Mariners' lineup. Strain held the Harwich Mariners hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

The Harwich Mariners' Matt Winn was perfect at the dish, going 2-2. He singled in the third innings and doubled in the fifth inning.

Johnathan Frebis pitched lights out for the Harwich Mariners. The Bourne Braves managed just three hits off of Frebis, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his four innings of work.

Travis Bergen improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Bourne Braves. He allowed one run over five innings. He struck out seven, walked none and surrendered six hits.

Jake Drossner couldn't get it done on the mound for the Harwich Mariners, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
