Sam Haggerty collected three hits, sparking the Hyannis Harbor Hawks (4-2) to an 8-4 victory over the Wareham Gatemen (1-5) on Tuesday at Spillane Field.
He singled in the first and seventh innings and homered in the ninth inning.The Wareham Gatemen's lineup had no answer for Lance Thonvold. The Wareham Gatemen managed just three hits off of Thonvold, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his 3 2/3 innings of work.
Willie Calhoun had two extra-base hits for the Wareham Gatemen. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the third and seventh innings.
Tate Scioneaux recorded his second win of the year for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks. He allowed three runs over five innings. Scioneaux struck out one, walked two and gave up eight hits.
Nick Fuller couldn't get it done on the mound for the Wareham Gatemen, taking a loss. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
