The Cotuit Kettleers (4-2) beat the Bourne Braves (4-2) 7-6 on Tuesday at Lowell Park behind Casey Schroeder, who went 1-3 and hit a home run.

Adam Whitt put together a nice outing. Whitt gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two during his three innings of work.

Blake Davey put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Bourne Braves. He homered in the second inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

The Cotuit Kettleers couldn't get anything going so long as Joey Strain was on the hill. Strain held the Cotuit Kettleers hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Dylan Nelson was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed one run.
