The Chatham Anglers (1-0) beat the Orleans Firebirds (0-1) 10-2 on Wednesday thanks to a four-run eighth inning.

Blake Butera racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Chatham Anglers. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Lou Distasio pitched lights out for the Chatham Anglers. Distasio held the Orleans Firebirds hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Edwin Rios paced the Orleans Firebirds at the plate. Rios went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fourth inning and tripled in the seventh innings.

Trent Thornton (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
