The Nevada Big Horns (4-6)'s six first-inning runs built an early lead that helped bring home a 6-1 win over the California Warriors (8-4) on Thursday at Western Nevada College.

The Nevada Big Horns scored in the first on an RBI single by Kody Reynolds, , a two-run double by Drake Richie, and a two-run single by Jake Pott.

Robert Ortega picked up the win for the Nevada Big Horns. Ortega pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, five hits and one walk while striking out five.

Alex Fernandez ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked three and struck out five.
