A magnificent effort by Ricky Rodriguez Jr. carried the Top Speed Baseball (12-1) to an 8-3 win over the California Warriors (9-7) on Monday at Marin Catholic HS.

Rodriguez Jr. blasted two home runs for the Top Speed Baseball. Rodriguez Jr. went 2-4 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Rodriguez Jr. homered in the second and seventh innings.

The California Warriors had no answer for Corey Lathram, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Lathram held the California Warriors hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Francis Griffin got on base two times in the game for the California Warriors. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the sixth inning.

Michael Slifer got the win, running his season record to 3-0. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Bret Bowyer couldn't get it done on the mound for the California Warriors, taking a loss. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
