Tyler Davis had two extra base hits, sparking the Top Speed Baseball (29-4) to a 7-4 victory over the Nevada Big Horns (8-24) on Tuesday at McQueen HS.
He homered in the fourth inning, doubled in the eighth innings, and singled in the ninth inning.The Nevada Big Horns had no answer for Michael Slifer, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Nevada Big Horns managed just two hits off of Slifer, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his three innings of work.
A bright spot for the Nevada Big Horns in the defeat was Kyle Pruneau, who allowed only three runs while striking out seven.
Austin Andrews went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the Nevada Big Horns. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the third inning.
Kody Reynolds (0-1) took the loss for the Nevada Big Horns. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
