Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Thursday as the Gateway Grizzlies (50-46) outscored the Joliet Slammers (40-56) 9-8 in 15 innings.

The teams totaled 39 hits in the game.

Madison Beaird reached base six times in the game for the Gateway Grizzlies. He scored three runs and had two RBIs. He singled in the first, third, fourth, and fifteenth innings.

Dejai Oliver baffled the Joliet Slammers, striking out three batters. Oliver allowed no earned runs, four hits and no walks over 4 2/3 innings.

Andrew Aizenstadt improved to 3-4 on the year by picking up the win for the Gateway Grizzlies. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered two hits.

David Kubiak couldn't get it done on the bump for the Joliet Slammers, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked none, struck out six, and allowed one run.
