Jacob Tanis went 1-4 and hit a home run as the Florence Freedom (39-48) took home a 6-1 victory over the Joliet Slammers (34-54) at Silver Cross Field on Tuesday.

Dave Middendorf picked up the win for the Florence Freedom. Middendorf allowed one earned run, six hits and no walks while striking out three over seven innings of work.

Andrew Strenge couldn't get it done on the bump for the Joliet Slammers, taking a loss. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
