The Normal CornBelters (44-41) shut the door early on the Traverse City Beach Bums (35-51), capturing a 10-4 victory on Saturday at The Corn Crib.

The game was decided quickly as the Normal CornBelters exerted their will early with six runs in the first three innings.

An RBI single by Mike Schwartz, a groundout by Sam Judah, an RBI single by Aaron Dudley, and a two-run single by Jhiomar Veras during the first inning and an RBI double by Judah in the second inning helped the Normal CornBelters put some runs on the board early.

Judah racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Normal CornBelters.

Jake Rhodes racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He homered in the third inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Mike Devine got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed four runs over six innings. He struck out five, walked one and surrendered eight hits.

Rusty Shellhorn couldn't get it done on the bump for the Traverse City Beach Bums, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in three innings, walked two and struck out two.
