Mike Schwartz went 1-2 and hit a home run, sparking the Normal CornBelters (36-39) to an 8-4 victory in seven innings over the Gateway Grizzlies (45-31) on Tuesday at The Corn Crib.

Ben Waldrip was hot from the plate for the Gateway Grizzlies. Waldrip went 2-3 and scored one run. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the sixth inning.

Chris Carmain improved to 3-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Normal CornBelters. He allowed four runs over seven innings. Carmain struck out four, walked one and gave up nine hits.

Brett Mabry (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just three innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
