The Florence Freedom (41-55) beat the River City Rascals (61-35) 9-4 in eight innings on Friday at T. R. Hughes Ballpark behind Sam Eberle, who had two extra base hits.

Joe Staley paced the River City Rascals at the plate. Staley went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Michael ONeal got the win, running his season record to 2-7. He allowed four runs over four innings. He struck out two, walked four and surrendered three hits.

Tommy Mendoza (9-3) took the loss for the River City Rascals. He allowed six runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked none and struck out one.
