The Schaumburg Boomers top the Joliet Slammers behind Delmonico's 3 hits, 18-4

A superb effort by Tony Delmonico led the Schaumburg Boomers (41-28) to an 18-4 win over the Joliet Slammers (27-42) on Monday at Silver Cross Field.

Delmonico blasted two home runs for the Schaumburg Boomers. Delmonico went 3-6 in the game with four RBIs and three runs scored. Delmonico homered in the fourth, sixth, sixth, and sixth innings.

Eight runs in the first three innings helped the Schaumburg Boomers blow out the Joliet Slammers. An RBI double by Joe De Pinto, an RBI single by Delmonico, and a home run by Michael Valadez during the first inning and an error in the second inning fueled the Schaumburg Boomers' offense early.

Max Casper had two extra-base hits for the Joliet Slammers. He doubled in the first and fourth innings and singled in the ninth inning.

Danny Jimenez improved to 7-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Schaumburg Boomers. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out two, walked three and surrendered six hits.

Alex Kaminsky (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed nine runs in four innings, walked two and struck out four.
