A superb effort by Landon Hernandez lifted the Gateway Grizzlies (38-26) to a 7-6 win over the Florence Freedom (25-37) on Wednesday at UC Health Stadium.
Hernandez racked up six RBIs on four hits for the Gateway Grizzlies. He singled in the third inning and homered in the first, fifth, and seventh innings.
Luke Westphal put together a nice outing. Westphal held the Florence Freedom hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none.
Cole Miles racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Florence Freedom. He singled in the third inning and homered in the fourth inning.
Chris Squires couldn't get it done on the bump for the Florence Freedom, taking a loss. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed one run.
