A walk-off single from Dylan Kelly brought home the winning run for the Normal CornBelters (28-29) in a 5-4 victory over the Lake Erie Crushers at The Corn Crib on Thursday.
Aaron Dudley racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Normal CornBelters. He singled in the second inning and homered in the eighth innings.
Kurt Schluter pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, three hits and four walks while striking out four.
Despite the loss, the Lake Erie Crushers (31-27)'s Matt Rein dominated the Normal CornBelters' batters, giving up two runs and striking out six.
Chris Carmain improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Normal CornBelters. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered one hit.
Jason Wilson (6-3) took the loss for the Lake Erie Crushers. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
