Both the Washington Wild Things (36-20) and the Normal CornBelters (27-28) put runners aboard on Tuesday, but it was the Washington Wild Things that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 4-3 win at The Corn Crib.

William Beckwith rocked the Normal CornBelters with two home runs. Beckwith went 2-3 in the game with two RBIs and two runs scored. Beckwith homered in the second and fourth innings.

The Normal CornBelters couldn't get anything going so long as Shawn Blackwell was on the hill. Blackwell held the Normal CornBelters hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five.

Jason Postill brought the heat against the Washington Wild Things during his outing. Postill held the Washington Wild Things hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Bobby Shore ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out seven, and allowed four runs.
