Walch struck out five and allowed three walks and two hits.
Jeremy Nowak had two extra-base hits for the Evansville Otters. He homered in the fifth inning and doubled in the ninth inning.
A bright spot for the Windy City ThunderBolts in the defeat was Josh Spence, who allowed only one run while striking out nine.
Spence ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year.
