Extra-inning thriller favors the Lake Erie Crushers, 3-2 winners over the Evansville Otters

The Lake Erie Crushers (31-26) put in a full day's work in a 10-inning, 3-2 win over the Evansville Otters (33-22) Sunday at Bosse Field.

With the score tied at two in the tenth inning, Anderson Hidalgo came to the plate and doubled, scoring Vincent Mejia.

Hidalgo got on base four times in the game for the Lake Erie Crushers. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the eighth inning and doubled in the tenth inning.

The Evansville Otters couldn't get anything going as long as Brad Duffy was pitching. Duffy held the Evansville Otters hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Despite the loss, the Evansville Otters' Blake Monar dominated the Lake Erie Crushers' batters, giving up one run and striking out eight.

Anthony Collazo couldn't get it done on the mound for the Evansville Otters, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed one run.
