Both the Schaumburg Boomers (28-23) and the Joliet Slammers (20-31) put runners aboard on Saturday, but it was the Schaumburg Boomers that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 7-6 win at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium.
Tyler Sciacca racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Schaumburg Boomers. He singled in the first, second, and fourth innings.
Christopher Epps had two extra-base hits for the Joliet Slammers. He doubled in the third inning and tripled in the seventh inning.
Clark Labitan improved to 3-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Schaumburg Boomers. Labitan struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.
Kevin McNorton was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
