The Gateway Grizzlies (32-16) beat the Rockford Aviators (21-24) 7-6 on Wednesday at Aviator Stadium behind Michael Wing, who had two extra base hits.

The Rockford Aviators couldn't get anything going so long as Luke Westphal was on the hill. Westphal held the Rockford Aviators hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Ryan Breen racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Rockford Aviators. He homered in the second inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Michael Schaub couldn't get it done on the bump for the Rockford Aviators, taking a loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.

The Gateway Grizzlies were sparked by Wing and Madison Beaird, who teamed up for four hits and five RBIs.
