Matt Packer pitched seven shutout innings, but it wasn't enough to carry the Normal CornBelters (22-20) to a win on Saturday, as the Normal CornBelters fell to the Schaumburg Boomers (24-19) 2-1 at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium in 12 innings.

Heith Hatfield improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Schaumburg Boomers. Hatfield struck out two, walked none and gave up one hit.

Jason Postill (3-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
