Extra-inning thriller favors the Evansville Otters, 5-4 winners over the Joliet Slammers

The game between the Evansville Otters (25-16) and the Evansville Otters went into extra innings, but when the last out was recorded the Evansville Otters emerged with a 5-4 victory.

With the score tied at four, Chris Elder came to the plate and homered.

Elder racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Evansville Otters. He singled in the fourth and ninth innings and homered in the eleventh inning.

Anthony Collazo brought the heat against the Joliet Slammers (16-25) during his outing. Collazo held the Joliet Slammers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

A bright spot for the Joliet Slammers in the defeat was Andrew Busby, who allowed only one run while striking out six.

Orlando Santos improved to 3-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Evansville Otters. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered two hits.

Brett Zawacki (3-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out five, and allowed four runs.
