Chuck Weaver kept the Gateway Grizzlies (30-14) off the board during his seven innings of work and the Florence Freedom (18-22) beat the Gateway Grizzlies, 6-1.

Weaver struck out four and allowed three walks and three hits.

Orrin Sears racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Florence Freedom. He homered in the third inning and singled in the fifth innings.

Aaron Newcomb ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked three and struck out three.
