Tuesday was a great day for Richard Lucas, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the Normal CornBelters (16-17) to a 9-2 victory over the Windy City ThunderBolts (14-20) at The Corn Crib.

The offense exploded for the the Normal CornBelters in the first. The Windy City ThunderBolts had no answer as the Normal CornBelters scored five runs. The Normal CornBelters scored in the first on an RBI single by Aaron Dudley, a groundout by Patrick McKenna, and a three-run home run by Lucas.

Evan Button paced the Windy City ThunderBolts at the plate. Button went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Bobby Shore got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed two runs over seven innings. Shore struck out seven, walked one and gave up four hits.

Eli Anderson was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in seven innings, walked none and struck out six.

The Normal CornBelters' Mike Schwartz, Lucas and Tyler Shover combined for seven hits and six RBIs.
