The River City Rascals best the Gateway Grizzlies in shootout, 15-9

The bats were busy at T. R. Hughes Ballpark on Friday, and when the dust cleared the River City Rascals (19-11) had a 15-9 win over the Gateway Grizzlies (20-12).

The two teams combined for 26 hits in the game.

Eight runs in the first three innings helped the River City Rascals blow out the Gateway Grizzlies. An RBI double by Zach Kometani, an RBI single by Brian Hansen, a single by Hector Crespo, , and a solo home run by Saxon Butler in the second inning supplied the early offense for the River City Rascals.

Taylor Ard racked up four RBIs on two hits for the River City Rascals.

Chandler Jagodzinski had an impressive outing against the Gateway Grizzlies' lineup. Jagodzinski held the Gateway Grizzlies hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Ethan Carter recorded his second win for the River City Rascals even though he allowed five runs over five innings. He struck out five, walked one and surrendered five hits.

JaVaun West (4-1) took the loss for the Gateway Grizzlies. He allowed 11 runs in four innings, walked five and struck out five.

The River City Rascals pounded the Gateway Grizzlies pitching, as six hitters combined for 14 hits, 14 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
