The Southern Illinois Miners (15-11) outlasted the Florence Freedom (13-12) at UC Health Stadium 4-1 on Friday after 11 innings.

With the score tied at one in the eleventh inning, reached on an error, scoring Chris Burke and Steve Marino.

Frank Martinez reached base two times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the first inning.

Matt Bywater allowed one earned run, four hits and two walks while striking out five over eight innings of work.
