J.R. Higley went 1-3, sparking the Evansville Otters (12-7) to a 5-1 victory over the Lake Erie Crushers (11-9) on Saturday at All Pro Freight Stadium.

Robert Ramer picked up the win for the Evansville Otters. Ramer allowed one earned run, three hits and one walk while striking out four over seven innings of work.

The Evansville Otters couldn't get anything going as long as Brad Duffy was pitching. Duffy held the Evansville Otters hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Mickey Jannis was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
